Two Physical Therapy professors take part in the 16th National Conference of the Spanish Sports Medicine Society

Their work focused on the differences in balancing between the sexes and between different sports disciplines, among other matters

Two professors from the Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy course at Universidad Europea de Valencia, Carlos Villarón Casales and Jorge Alarcón Jiménez, took part in the 16th National Conference of the Spanish Sports Medicine Society, held in Granada on November 23 - 26.

They presented two projects: first, an oral presentation, “Analysis of unipodal balance in young athletes in sports specialization plans”, analyzing the differences in how both sexes balance and the differences between sports disciplines, with combat sports such as karate and taekwondo on one hand, and on the other, track and field, triathlon and swimming.

Next, the professors presented a poster with the title “Somatotype of young athletes in sports specialization programs”, describing the somatotype of different sports disciplines in boys and girls.
