The Consejo Superior de Deporte (CSD) has given the great news: Universidad Europea de Canarias has been included in the Spanish Committee of University Sport (CEDU). In this way, the European University, recognised in the prestigious Shanghai Ranking as the best Spanish university and the 41st in the world in Sports Sciences, will join the students of Universidad Europea de Canarias in the Spanish University Championships.

The European University recognises sport as one of its fundamental pillars and this milestone is another step towards achieving excellence as an Institution. As the Rector of Universidad Europea de Canarias , Cristiana Oliveira, says: "This inclusion in the CEDU is a testament to the hard work and perseverance of our students, teaching and administrative staff. It represents an unprecedented opportunity to further raise the sporting profile of our university, offering our student athletes a platform to compete and excel at national and international level". He also stressed that "this collaboration will not only enrich the university experience for our students, but also strengthen our sense of community and belonging".

Teamwork, discipline, resilience and leadership are some of the skills that students can enhance through the practice of sport at a high level and, through competition, they can learn to cope better with academic and professional life. For this reason, Universidad Europea de Canarias is fully committed to sport and welcomes this great news for its educational community.
