On June 4 Universidad Europea's Gymnaestrada event drew 300 participants including gymnasts, employees and their children at the Villaviciosa de Odón Campus. The event consisted of a festival of gymnastics and sports, held in memory of Dean Juan Mayorga and the student Luis Hernández Moreno, who died last year.
Through this initiative, aimed at children between 5 and 12 years old, the young acrobats could discover a very fun and safe sport that works the whole body. They were joined by professionals like Oriol Combarros, a former Olympic athlete from the 2004 Athens Games; Isaac Botella, an Olympic finalist at the 2004 Athens Games and 2008 Beijing Games; as well as other gymnasts from the Spanish National Team.
