Universidad Europea launches a new Air Transport MBA

19 sep 2016

The Universidad Europea, in collaboration with the Professional Association of Commercial Aviation Pilots, has designed an advanced program for the Air Transport MBA. The program has been approved by the Ministry of Education via ANECA, is taught entirely in English and lasts one academic year of online training with seven voluntary presence-based phases.

The program was developed together with experts from COPAC, members of the Universidad Europea Industrial Engineering and Aerospace Department and air operations sector companies in order to “create innovative associations to benefit the aeronautical industry, which is very important to Universidad Europea”, stressed Luis Gurria, director of the Master's program and airline pilot.

The Master's is aimed at aviation sector professionals with a university degree, as well as pilots with an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL), and combines academic rigor with parallel activities such as workshops, internships, visits to significant sector organizations and launching entrepreneurial projects.

The academic program offers in-depth knowledge of the aeronautical sector and its curriculum includes sustainability. It also allows students the chance to acquire innovative-based management skills to find new answers to the challenges they face.

In fact, the main goal of this program is to provide students with the knowledge, tools and skills necessary to lead the aviation sector in the future, “a sector with growth levels that double traffic every ten years and requires well-trained managers who can understand globalization from a standpoint of innovation and continuous improvement”, said Pablo Torrejón, Aeronautical Engineer and Manager at ENAIRE and professor of the Universidad Europea Air Transport MBA.
