The CAFYD Top 10 combines top-level training, applied research, and developing talent and skills. To win, the 10 chosen applicants had to pass a series of tough tests at a Bootcamp where they competed against 20 others from July 24-27. During the event, the candidates were advised at all times by professors and experts such as Valentí Sanjuan and Luis Pasamontes.

The sports camp included group sessions with challenges set by the professors, physical tests prepared by the School, and different activities designed to discover who are the ten students to win a scholarship with financial help to cover 80% of their tuition fees for the five years of the degree program. The winners will also take part in applied research projects at the School’s Center of Excellence and Innovation in Physical Activity and Sports and a program designed to develop the skills of excellent students.

According to Francisco López Varas, Dean of the School of Sports and Exercise Sciences, “The CAFYD Top 10” reflects the philosophy of Universidad Europea, its commitment to excellence and social transformation through education, he said during the scholarship presentation ceremony also attended by Miguel Gómez Navarro, Rector of the Universidad de Madrid; Miguel Silvestre, former elite cyclist and Alumni of the Real Madrid Graduate School – Universidad Europea; José Luis Llorente Gento, former professional basketball player and Spanish, European and world champion with Real Madrid Baloncesto; and Luis Pablo García Coronado, Physical Therapy supervisor at Hospital Universitario La Paz and Universidad Europea Alumni.
