Third day of the White Week 2019

16 may 2019

The third day of the White Week event commenced with a talk from Tristán Celador Rodríguez, Head of Methodology of the Real Madrid F.C. academy who spoke about the "Organization and structure of the Real Madrid academy". Tristán shared with the Real Madrid Graduate School students the Young players recruitment process, education and promotion of the future Real Madrid players. “We should allow players to develop their potential for the greater good of the team”. The criteria to recruit the players is as follows: their character, their decision-making capacity and their skills with the ball.

The next talk was given by Pilar Jericó, President of BeUp Consulting firm, writer and speaker, who shared the key to working towards achieving your dreams with her talk "How to achieve your dreams?". In Pilar’s words, the “fast” brain labels reality and that make us miss opportunities of making our dreams come true. “Having a closed or rigid mindset is one of the main impediments to reaching our dreams. Fear is the feeling that works against us the most, but visualizing our dreams is one of the key drivers and motivations.”

Javier Fernández, Double World Champion and the best Spanish figure skater in history, was the next guest speaker. He told the students about his professional career, his new projects, how he has been able to manage his motivations, fears and successes. “For me it was never a problem to deal with public success. It was something that I knew I had to do. Every single decision that I’ve made has taught me something, most of them have made me a better person and a better athlete”.

José López Chicharro, Professor of Exercise Physiology and First-team nutritionist of Real Madrid F.C. closed the morning talks of the day with his presentation about "Strength training for personal health".

The day continued with a talk about "The European Club Association and its role in the modern football landscape" offered by Michelle Centenaro, General Secretary of the European Club Association (ECA).

Michelle’s talk was followed by José Ángel Sánchez, Managing Director at Real Madrid F.C. who spoke about the execution and development of the continuous search for success of one of the biggest football clubs in the world.

To finalise the third and penultimate day of the White Week, Charlie Stillitano, Co-founder and Chairman of Relevent Sports spoke about the International Champions Cup and the Power of the Real Madrid Brand.
