Europea Radio will broadcast European Championship

The station’s schedule and brand image include broadcasting major sports events such as the World Cup and the European Championship

Students from the faculty of Social Science and Communication, and graduate students of the Real Madrid/Universidad Europea Master's in Communication and Sports Journalism will broadcast the European Championship in France on Europea Radio. Sports broadcasting is a hallmark of this radio station, which usually covers sporting events such as the World Cup, Champions League matches and the Copa del Rey Spanish football cup.

These broadcasts are an integral part of the schedule and arose from the initiative of a group of students who wanted to set up this type of radio space six years ago.  In fact, it began with the soccer World Cup in South Africa in 2010 and, since then, Europea Radio has been at all the major European and world events with the Spanish national team (Poland-Ukraine European Championship in 2012, and the Brazil World Cup in 2014).

The following first phase matches will be broadcast:

- June 10, 21:00 hours: France - Romania

- June 13, 15:00 hours: Spain - Czech Republic

-  June 14, 21:00 hours: Portugal - Iceland

- June 15, 21:00 hours: France - Albania

- June 17, 21:00 hours: Spain - Turkey

- June 20, 21:00 hours: Slovakia - England

- June 21, 21:00 hours: Croatia - Spain

- June 22, 21:00 hours: Italy - Ireland

The round of 16, quarter final and semi final matches will be chosen depending on the matches and the results of Vicente del Bosque’s men; the final will be broadcast regardless of the teams playing.
