54 nationalities present at the Real Madrid–Universidad Europea Graduate School Commencement Ceremony

09 jul 2018

The Santiago Bernabéu Soccer Stadium was once again the setting for the Commencement Ceremony for the Real Madrid–Universidad Europea Graduate School. The event was held Monday, July 9 and was attended by over 492 students from 54 different nationalities, accompanied by guests and family members, as well as the faculty.

The president of Real Madrid C.F., Florentino Pérez, and the rector of Universidad Europea, Juan Morote Sarrión, presided over the event, which included the participation of the European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, as guest speaker for the Class of 2017-18. He reminded the graduates that “success in life is only achieved through a lot of effort and work. Big results are only achieved through teamwork. You’re going to work a lot in your life, and you should enjoy it and work with passion.” During his speech, Florentino Pérez noted that over 10,500 students have passed through the classrooms of the Real Madrid–Universidad Europea Graduate School, a school with a consolidated international and multicultural nature, which currently operates in 12 countries.

Rector Juan Morote encouraged the graduates to continue to make an effort in this exceptional context, “to become successful professionals who have an impact on the sports sector at a global level.” The graduates from the School's 12th graduating class also received some words of wisdom from the School’s general director, Emilio Butragueño, who in his speech reminded the students of “the five values that identify us: an entrepreneurial spirit, teamwork, integrity, leadership, and excellence. Our objective is to transmit these values to you. Never stop learning, never give up, go after your dreams. The future is yours.”
