In Madrid we have two campuses (Villaviciosa de Odón and Alcobendas), another campus in Valencia and another one in the Canary Islands. In total, we have 25 hectares with the best facilities: 3 university clinics, laboratories for all the scientific degrees, multimedia language center, sports complexes and student halls of residence.

In addition, there are work spaces available, tutorial classrooms and areas for group work in all our buildings, as well as within the library, that are available to students and teachers.

In the case of students on the Master’s Degree in New Materials Engineering, they will have at their disposal laboratories to complete their practical hours:

  • Structures and materials testing laboratory: machines for materials trials, both destructive and non-destructive.
  • Machine tools workshop. Mechanized diverse pieces and mechanical adjustments. Milling, drill, tangential rectifier, saw with hydraulic lowering and vertical belt saw, manual folding machine. Tools, etc.  
  • IT Systems Laboratories: with 6 computer laboratories.
  • Electromechanical Laboratories. This laboratory covers: electrical machines, industrial automation and renewable energy.  
  • Aerodynamic Laboratory. Made up of a wind tunnel with two trial sections. The dimensions section is 900x900mm with a maximum speed of 150km/h, and the 1800x1800mm section the maximum speed is 50Km/h. Design of experiments of two-dimensional models of aerodynamic profiles, visualization methods for the study of the limit cover and trials of dynamic models.  
  •  Nanotechnology laboratory, equipped conveniently for research into areas linked to synthesis and characterization of catalysts based on nanotubes and nanofibers of carbon for use in health, the environment and energy production. Also, the use of nanoparticles as improvement additives of properties in materials for: construction (cements), engineering (polymers).

Dr. Carmen Gonzalez Gasca
Doctor in Mining Engineering, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. Specializing in Materials Engineering in areas relating to metallic materials and cement bases. For the past three decades, collaborates in research projects nationally and internationally, technical assistance to companies and viability reports. Author of numerous articles in scientific journals included in the Science Citation Index. Since 2001, combines her work in academic management, teaching and research in areas of architecture and industrial and civil engineering.


Dr. Alicia Páez Pavón
Industrial Engineer and Doctor in Materials Science and Engineering. Currently is an associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Aerospace Engineering at Universidad Europea de Madrid. Her main research areas are the development and optimization of magnetic materials via powder metallurgy and the development of new materials with cement bases reinforced with carbon nanoparticles.  

Dr. Arisbel Cerpa
Doctor in Chemical Engineering. Over 30 years’ teaching and research experience in nanotechnology, fluids currents, rheology and conformed materials processes. Publications in various journals of Journal Citation Report (JCR) and over 40 appearances in national and international conferences.

Dr. Carlos Quiterio Gómez Muñoz
International Doctor in Sciences and Applied Technology to Industrial Engineering, Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha. Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, UCLM. Senior Industrial Engineer, Senior Industrial Engineers of Ciudad Real. Technical Industrial Engineer in the specialty of Industrial Electronics. His main research areas are: new techniques in the monitoring of structural integrity through non-destructive practices; ultrasonic inspection and guided waves; digital signal processing; new algorithms to detect and locate the defects and inspection using drones with thermography and radiometry.

Dr. Fermín Navarro Medina
Doctor in Aerospace Engineering, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, specialist in the field of civil aerodynamics and in space vehicles, which is the subject of his interventions at conferences and publications. Has completed collaboration exchanges supporting spatial thermal control in various missions of the European Space Agency, at the Belgium Institute for Space Aeronomy in Brussels, and at the Institute of Experimental and Applied Physics at the University of Kiel. Worked as a professor at UPM and now at UEM teaching the subjects on the degree in Aerospace Engineering and the Master’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.

Dr. Francisco de Asis Cabello Galisteo
University Professor certified by ANECA as: assistant doctor, hired doctor and university professor. Specialist in the characterization of catalytic materials applied to processes of environmental decontamination. Chemical Engineer, Universidad de Málaga and Master’s Degree in Company Organization, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. Extraordinary Doctorate Prize in Chemical Sciences, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). 6 years’ experience at the Catalyst Petrochemical Institute, has published 17 articles in JCR high impact journals. At a teaching level, as well as having 2 years’ experience at Universidad Europea, has also taught at Universidad Antonio de Nebrija as an associate professor. Has experience in participating in European Innovation H2020 projects regarding domestic systems for renewable energy.

Dr. Jose Omar Martínez Lucci
Doctor in Mechanical Engineering. Expert in Thermal Sciences, Fluid Mechanics and Aerodynamics. Worked for the aeronautical industry for 7 years where he implemented a confidence program in the Boeing 737 fleet and was head of the Quality Control Department of American Airlines in Lima, Peru.

Dr. Juan Fernando Espuelas CID
Certified since 2008 by ANECA as Private University Professor and Hired Doctor. Has been recognized by ANECA in two research projects: 2003-2008/ 2009-2014. Professor of Architectural Projects since 2016. Between 2012 and 2017 has directed 5 doctoral theses, all of them obtaining Outstanding Cum Laude results, one with International Mention. Has been on the judging panel of 25 other doctoral theses. Is the Lead Researcher of the group PAR_PAN Patrimonio Arquitectónico y Paisaje Antrópico. Regularly publishes articles in Architecture magazines. Member of the Doctoral and Research School EDI from 2012 to 2016. Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Advanced Construction Techniques.  

Dr. Maria Isabel Lado Touriño
Doctor in Chemistry, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (1996). Teaching experience in the field of Chemistry and Materials Science, (1998-present) at the Higher Institute of Materials at Le Mans, France (1996-2001) and at Universidad Europea de Madrid (2001-present) as lead professor. Research experience in the field of nanotechnology (1992-present), principally in biomedical applications. Author of 24 publications in international journals, has participated in 16 projects financed by public administrations and private companies and in over 40 international conferences.

Dr. Mariana Paula Arce Garcia
Doctor in Chemical Sciences, UAM. Completed her thesis at the Medical Chemical Institute on the synthesis and evaluation of multi-functional molecules for a possible treatment of Alzheimer’s. Currently works on the synthesis of new nanomaterials with biomedical use. Professor at Universidad Europea since 2011 teaching in the degrees in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Pharmacy and Biotechnology.

3. Reserve your place

Along with the admissions letter, you will receive an envelope with information about official registration. It is recommended that in order to reserve your place, you should respond within 7 days of receiving the letter.

4. Registration

All students joining the Universidad Europea for the first time, wanting to study a degree, must open a file with the university, prior to registration. The Department of Admission for New Students will provide the candidate with all the documentation and forms to complete their registration.

Convalidations and transfers

You don’t have to carry on doing something you don’t want to. For this reason, we have designed specific convalidation and university transfer plan. If you want to know your personalized plan, as quickly and easily as possible, send us an email to along with the following documentation:

  • Personal academic certificate of the original degree.
  • Study plan sealed by the Secretariat of the center of origin.
  • The academic program of the subjects studied and/or enrolled in the original degree.
  • Officially translated degree certificate (only in the case of foreign graduates)

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion. 

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
