The laboratories

The Master’s Degree in Audiovisual Content Creation and Management has theory spaces available in addition to the laboratories that are freely available to students, the audiovisual classrooms and Avid sets and the sets of Universidad Europea in Villaviciosa as well as the teaching spaces at Universidad Europea in Alcobendas.

Virtual set

Set in which you can download different settings created in 3D and interact with the set design. It has three robotic cameras, Ultimate embedding, Cue, Wireless microphones, light control and positions for the virtual set operator and their animations.

New television studio

Fully renovated in September 2016, it is prepared for the completion of multicamera programs, it has three camera channels and one dolly, which communicate via intercom with the production control and LCD monitoring and a multiscreen system.  It has AutoCue for the voice-over of broadcasters to camera and speed control via pedal. The studio has Chrome in order to practice completing deep in-lays. In the Production Control, the cameras can be controlled via CCU, with lighting, sound, DVE and mixer. Students complete their own programs (news, contests, debates…) launching their headlines, news blasts and pieces from VTRs, videos on the server or direct lines with other rooms such as the virtual set or situated in the same room.

Video, audio and musical creation edition rooms

2 rooms for the postproduction of video and audio, with the most used software in television and in production companies. They have 20 and 26 computers respectively, with work stations with Final Cut Pro X, Avid Media Composer and Protools 10, sound desk for voice-overs and materials in HD, such as SD and P2 readers or firewire to cameras HD, HDV, DVCPro or DV. There is also musical creation software such as Logic, Sibelius and Cubase.

Postproduction booths

There are 4 booths for group projects with iMacs with all the necessary software such as Final Cut Pro X, Motion, Compressor, Avid Media Composer, Adobe CS6, Sibelius, Logic and Cubase. From the room, images can be read onto cards for HD material or connections to cameras by firewire. There are high resolution video monitors to check on the screen the result of the film. The high quality of this equipment makes it the ideal room to work on the postproduction of audio and video documentaries and short films, as well as being the ideal place to create headers and intros.

Students can also use the Mediaset España facilities in Villaviciosa de Odón (Estudios Picasso) and the facilities of Mediaset España on C/Federico Mompou (Madrid).

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion.

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
