Access

Facilities

In order to get the most out of our innovative academic model, Universidad Europea makes available to you the most advanced laboratories and simulation rooms, equipped with the most innovative technology.

  • Biology Laboratory. Equipped with multi-head, optical microscopes adapted to video.
  • Anatomy Laboratory. Fitted with anatomical models: natural bones from skeletons and anatomical models. The room has tables for the study of anatomical models of large dimensions and computers on each of them. In addition, there are 14 computers with access to virtual campus (Moodle), virtual dissection program ADAM, anatomy atlas VMV in 3D and other resources of the Library and 2 stainless steel tables with an area for cleaning and working with natural organs.
  • Dissection Room. Students learn anatomy by practicing on cadavers. For use in teaching, there are two areas: a preparation room and another room for dissection and prosection.
  • Experience Physiology Laboratory. Equipped with various ergometers (treadmills and cycle-ergometers and mechanical and electromagnetic hand brake ergometers), pH and blood electrolyte analyzers, lactate analyzer, oxygen analyzer, electromyographs and electrocardiographs with 12 branches. Additionally, it has a densitometry unit which allows for the analysis of bone density in patients and athletes; the unit is led by Dr. Margarita Pérez and is used in the study of various investigation projects. Various research projects subsidized by numerous sporting and health organizations who have obtained National Prizes for Sports Medicine (for the years 2016, 2015, 2010, 2009, 2006 and 2005) among others, take place here.
  • Biomechanical Laboratory. Made up of two spaces: one used for the storage of portable instruments and treatment of data, equipped with computers, videos/DVDs and other equipment, and a second space, destined primarily for teaching, which allows students to complete their practical lessons and take down data in research. This second space is prepared for the making of automatic and dynamic cinematic analysis with dynamometrical platforms. The software used is the following: Dinascan for dynamic and stabilometric platforms, Biofoot for dynamic analysis of plantar pressure, Ned/IBV for functional evaluation in applications evaluating articular mobility, analysis of movement and stabilometrics, DartFish for cinematic analysis and SignalFrame for isometric force analysis.
  • Physical Therapy Laboratories. There are a total of 14 laboratories equipped with hydraulic beds and materials for practical simulations in the different areas of specialization.
  • Simulated Hospital. A centre with the most advanced technology which allows the development of a truly innovative and distinguished academic model.  The most cutting edge installations are made available to students to offer a truly practical training experience, one-of-a-kind in Spain, through interprofessional education and simulation. The center has been designed for clinical training, research and formative innovation and where future professionals of the healthcare sector can acquire the skills in physical exploration, preparing hospital charts, communication or any type of medical procedure. For this purpose, the center has excellent facilities, with the latest generation of materials that allows different scenarios to be created from very simple ones to highly complex ones. The traditional classroom is transformed into a professional environment where students develop skills and dexterity appropriate to their future healthcare profession. It has consulting areas, hospitalization rooms, task training room, low complexity simulation, pharmacy office and hospital pharmacy. Additionally, there are High complexity simulation rooms, where direct visualizations and debriefings can take place, recreating scenes from an operating room, emergency room and intensive care unit. The Simulated Hospital of Universidad Europea provides a safe environment in which students of different healthcare professions learn to respond to complex and serious healthcare situations, in a coordinated and joint manner, as is the case in real situations, but without risk.

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion.

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
