Study a Degree in Animation in the best laboratories, created to guarantee that your learning takes place in a realistic environment, with the aim of making your projects a reality.

In the Faculty of Architecture, Engineering and Design you will have 20 laboratories at your disposal, including:

  • Wacom Classrooms: there are two classrooms with 50 posts in total with 30 high performance digital screens Wacom Cintiq 22HD of large formats and 20 Wacom digital tablets of various formats for interactive design. In addition, the space has 20 backlighting supports to complete traditional transparent tracing techniques and a stereoscopic projector for 3D glasses.  
  • AVR Lab – Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Laboratory: this 100m2 laboratory is made up of different types of equipment to complete inversive experiences through digital glasses technology, remote controls and gloves for different platforms (smart TV, smart phone, videogame console) as well as equipment for capturing movement.
  • Digital Manufacturing Laboratory – FabLab: this 150 m2 lab is made up of various rooms with rapid prototyping machines such as 3D scanners and 3D printers in different formats to work with plastic, resin, dust and ceramic, as well as numerical control machinery such as vinyl plotters, laser cutters, CNC milling machines and robotic arms of different characteristics.
  • Chroma Room: 50 m2 studio equipped with technical equipment for cameras and production table to capture images and videos against a neutral backdrop.  
  • Editing Studios: 50 m2 classrooms equipped with MAC and PC computers with video and image editing software.


If you are coming from outside of the Region of Madrid and would like to undertake the on-site full-time program, you can find accommodation in line with your needs: near to campus, safe, comfortable, in an academic setting, with good services, quality furnishings, etc. Thanks to the two student halls that Universidad Europea has, both located on campus and with capacity for 550 people, with all domestic, academic and safety needs ideally suited to a student.

These student halls are destined both for students or for those teachers or personnel who may need accommodation at some point: scientific, artistic or cultural exchanges, or even for any other person whose stay is directly or indirectly related to the University.

Dr. José Manuel Cuesta Martínez

Founding Partner and CCO-Creative Director at WildBit Studios. Doctor cum laude in Fine Arts, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Graduate in Fine Arts, Master’s Degree in Advertising and corporate identity, Universidad Camilo José Cela and Certified Autodesk Expert in 3D animation and digital postproduction. In 2009 he was awarded the prize at the International Potenza Film Festival in Italy for his 3D animation short, Náufrago, which was also a finalist in a dozen festivals around the world. In 2012 he led the creation and development of the Wildbit Studios video game "DrawPets", which was awarded the prize for best Spanish video game at the "App Date Awards". Since 2014 he is a strategic adviser of the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism and of the Quality Agency Aneca for the development of the White Book on the Digital Economy.

Abelardo Gil Fournier

Artist and researcher, his work centers on the notion of materiality of vision, between natural history, technological mediations and scenery colonization. His practice is based on the creation of platforms conceived with open mechanisms at the intersection of art, nature and politics. Part of his work has taken place during stays at El Ranchito Matadero Madrid, Laboral Centro de Arte/CTIC (Gijón) and television channel Canal+, or thanks to commissions by institutions such as AECID-Culturambiente, CROMAFest (México DF) or the open hardware company Ultra-lab.

Alberto Chinchón Espino

Plastics artist and research centering on performance and video performance. Has participated in various national and international meet-ups such as "Deformes" in Santiago de Chile. Among his video and video-installation exhibits are his participations in "Generaciones" "Inéditos", both at Casa Encendida de Madrid. He has exhibited his work at the Pi&Margall Gallery, Biennial of Young Art of Moscow, Center for Contemporary Creations at Matadero Madrid and the Spanish Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, among others.

María Socorro Pascual Nicolás

Graduate in Art History and Graduate in Restoration and Heritage Conservation. Has completed many courses in illustration, design and art programs, combining this with her work as a museum curator, designing various exhibits in collaboration with Google, UPM, Museo Leonardo Torres Quevedo. Professor of Animation and 2D and 3D Art in the Degrees in Video Game Design and Animation at Universidad Europea de Madrid.  

Álvaro Daza

Dynamic and multidisciplinary games developer with over 8 years’ experience in the video game industry, working both on AAA games and small PC and Smart phone projects. A professional both in the Production and Design of Games, centered on the mechanics and content of the game.   

Marta del Valle

Graduate in Architecture, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Master’s Degree in 3D Animation, U-TAD. Member of the international team of designers at Ahmedabad, India - Vastu Shilpa Foundation + CEPT University. Has been a 3D Character Animator for the video game “Die Young ” at Indiegala as well as in other games productions and animation series.

Verónica Rufo

Graduate in Audiovisual Communication, Universidad Francisco de Vitoria, Editorial Illustrator, Escuela Superior de Dibujo Profesional (ESDIP), Graduate in Graphic Design, Universidad Camilo José Cela, Master’s Degree in Video Game Design, Escuela Trazos and Master’s Degree in Secondary School Teaching, Universidad Europea. Graphic artist with experience in both vectorial and bitmap programs. Knowledge of traditional animation and character design in flash for use in animation. Art Director, Studio WesterEgg.

Luis Miguel Sánchez

Graduate in Fine Art, UCM, Degree in Pedagogical Aptitude – CAP in Fine Art, UCM and Master’s Degree in 3D Character Moulding for Cinema and Video Games, Animum Creativity Advanced School. Collaborating professor in the creation of the material for the Project “Professional Training in Video Game Production”, Universidad Complutense de Madrid together with Telefónica Educación Digital, designing material for the 2D and 3D Art part, games and interactive environments for IED Madrid.

Frank Loarces

Specialist in VFX for the HBO television series Game of Thrones, Technical Director at El Ranchito producing the special effects of the film, “A Monster Calls” by J. Bayona, Technical Director of the cartoons Jelly Jam.

1. Documentation

To begin your admission process, the first thing to do is book your appointment online or by calling 91 740 72 72.

2.  What does the admissions test consist of?

When will you know you’ve been accepted?

3. Reserve your place

Along with the admissions letter, you will receive an envelope with information about official registration. It is recommended that in order to reserve your place, you should respond within 7 days of receiving the letter.

4. Registration

All students joining the Universidad Europea for the first time, wanting to study a degree, must open a file with the university, prior to registration. The Department of Admission for New Students will provide the candidate with all the documentation and forms to complete their registration.

Convalidations and transfers

You don’t have to carry on doing something you don’t want to. For this reason, we have designed specific convalidation and university transfer plan. If you want to know your personalized plan, as quickly and easily as possible, send us an email to along with the following documentation:

  • Personal academic certificate of the original degree.
  • Study plan sealed by the Secretariat of the center of origin.
  • The academic program of the subjects studied and/or enrolled in the original degree.
  • Officially translated degree certificate (only in the case of foreign graduates)

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion. 

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
