Study the Degree in Civil Engineering in the best laboratories, created to guarantee that your learning takes place in a realistic environment, in order to make your projects a reality. 
Among the over 20 laboratories available to you in the School of Architecture, Engineering and Design, for your studies it is worth highlighting: 

  • Geology Laboratories: Equipped with mineral and geological samples, microscopes, stereoscopes, etc,... which allow for the analysis of geological, geomorphological and hydrological conditioning factors in soil and geotechniques with press and traction practices,  oedometers, CBRS etc to complete the geotechnical characterization of terrain samples and the resistant characteristics of samples and concrete beams manufactured with different structures. 
  • Hydraulic Laboratory: Equipped with a hydraulic channel to simulate water divisions, changes in hydraulic regimes, tubing and pumps to analyze pressure losses, roughness, etc. 
  • Digital Manufacturing Laboratory – FabLab: this 150 m2 lab is made up of various rooms with rapid prototyping machines such as 3D scanners and 3D printers in different formats to work with plastic, resin, dust and ceramic, as well as numerical control machinery such as vinyl plotters, laser cutters, CNC milling machines and robotic arms of different characteristics. 
  • Open Labs: Free access laboratory software. Thanks to this initiative, students at Universidad Europea can access over 300 applications from any place and platform.  


If you are coming from outside of the Region of Madrid and would like to undertake the on-site full-time program, you can find accommodation in line with your needs: near to campus, safe, comfortable, in an academic setting, with good services, quality furnishings, etc. Thanks to the two student halls that Universidad Europea has, both located on campus and with capacity for 550 people, with all domestic, academic and safety needs ideally suited to a student.

Juan Carlos Guerra Torralbo
Technical Public Works Engineer. Civil Engineer and Master’s Degree in Soil Mechanics and Foundations, CEDEX, Spanish Ministry of Public Works. Over 25 years’ professional experience in Project and Technical Assistance of Underground Works as it relates to Terrain Mechanics and Engineering. Head of Projects in the Area of Geotech of the Technical Direction of Ferrovial. Author or coauthor of 12 chapters in books, 11 technical articles, numerous publications presented at Conferences, Courses and Seminars. Civil Engineer. Over 12 years’ work experience in the field of Planning and Hydric Resources, Hydraulic and Hydrological Works as Project Manager. It is worth mentioning his studies and projects on River Engineering and River Basin Management in the European Directive on the River Basin Authorities of the North, the Ebro and the Mediterranean and Andalusian Basins. Research experience in the design of dams with lateral spillways with PROFIT and ETSICCP. Over 6 years’ teaching experience. 

Antonio Ramírez Montoto
Civil Engineer and Head of the Division for Sustained Reductions in Water use of Canal de Isabel II. Professional experience of over 15 years as head of various techniques relating to planning, exploration and management of hydraulic infrastructure.   • You can start out building a residential building, a school or even a mega bridge or a dam. You will be on site with a team and in the office reviewing calculations and BIM models.
  • You will be employed upon completing your studies due to your knowledge and the innovative tools used such as BIM that adds value to companies, such as the BIM integration in the Civil Engineering program. 
  • You will have at your disposal different laboratories: Geology, Hydraulics, Digital Manufacturing – FabLab, Soils Mechanics, BIM Classroom and 300 freely accessible applications through Open Labs.
  • You can participate in 34 student clubs to have a full university experience and continue broadening your knowledge and take part in high impact projects such as in Kenya or Nepal.
  • Learning By Doing you will learn through projects and challenges at real companies that will bring you closer to the world of Civil Engineers from day one. 
  • At least one visit per month to construction sites, control centers, to the field, infrastructure and you will take part in one international trip per year to unique construction sites.

As a civil engineer, you can work as a consultant or join construction companies in fields such as infrastructure, renewable energy, planning and transport, that require professionals like you to plan, design and build all types of projects. You can also develop your career in different Public Administrations. 


As a result of the introduction of BIM into the Syllabus, we have managed to increase the number of students and graduates joining companies that wish to introduce this methodology. 100% of the students in our last graduating class are working in the Civil Engineering sector.

3. Reserve your place

Along with the admissions letter, you will receive an envelope with information about official registration. It is recommended that in order to reserve your place, you should respond within 7 days of receiving the letter.

4. Registration

All students joining the Universidad Europea for the first time, wanting to study a degree, must open a file with the university, prior to registration. The Department of Admission for New Students will provide the candidate with all the documentation and forms to complete their registration.

Convalidations and transfers

You don’t have to carry on doing something you don’t want to. For this reason, we have designed specific convalidation and university transfer plan. If you want to know your personalized plan, as quickly and easily as possible, send us an email to along with the following documentation:

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion. 

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
