If you have completed your studies and wish to request your accredited degree and Certificate of Study you should follow the below steps:

1. Verify that the status of your transcript is “Studies Completed.”
2. Ensure that you are up to date on your payments with the University.
3. Fill out payment form 030, which can be found on the Autonomous Community of Madrid website http://www.madrid.org (Citizen Services -Forms and Procedures-/ Payment of Fees and Public Prices/ High School, Technical and Advanced Diploma/ Private Schools).
4. Pay the fee for Form 030 at your bank
5. Submit the following documents to Student Services:
  • ORIGINAL form 030, stamped by the bank
  • Photocopy of your identification document, ID CARD or PASSPORT (It is very important
  • that the document is up to date, as this is what will be listed on your degree).
  • The documents required to justify the exemption or reduction of fees, if applicable.

The Certificate of Study is an official document that is issued once the accredited diploma has been requested and which is valid until the diploma is issued, which will take approximately one and a half years after you've paid the corresponding fees. We will notify you when it is ready for you to come pick it up.

Once your Degree is at the University, you will receive an email notifying you of its arrival. Check to make sure your email address is correct here

Types of certifications

Personal Academic Certificate (CAP)

The Personal Academic Certificate is the document that proves the qualifications you have received in your degree program. This Certificate also includes the following information: first name, last name, degree program, enrollment year, average grade, course grades, and the number of credits taken.

It is issued in digital format within 1 day of submitting the request and it costs € 40.

General Certificate

The General Certificate is a document that includes the following information: first name, last name, degree program and current year of study, based on the current enrollment status at the time the request is made.

It is issued in digital format within 1 day of submitting the request and it is free.

Specific General Certificate

The Specific General Certificate is a document that serves as proof of additional academic information that is not included in the other certificates. When submitting the request you should indicate the specific information you wish to have certified in the “comments” section.

In the event the information requested is unable to be certified, the University will get in touch with you to notify you.

It is issued in digital format within 15 days of submitting the request and it costs € 40

Entrance Exams for +25/+45 years old Certificate

The Entrance Exams for students over 25 or 45 years old Certificate is a document that accredits that you have passed the Entrance Exam for students over 25 or 45 years old, as applicable. This certificate includes the specialization and average score on the general and specific exam.

Enrollment Confirmation Document

The Enrollment Confirmation Document includes information on the courses you have enrolled in for the current academic year. This document does not include grades and is only issued in Spanish.

Student Insurance

The Certificate of Student Insurance proves that the applicable fee for student insurance has been paid. This document is only issued in Spanish.

Course Syllabuses

The Course Syllabus Certificate contains detailed information on the classes belonging to the degree program studied.

Only the course syllabuses for accredited classes and those which you have enrolled in and passed at the time of the request will be included.

It is issued in digital format within 15 business days of submitting the request and it costs € 40.

If you do not need a Course Syllabus Certificate you can find the syllabuses available on the University’s website under the information pertaining to each degree program.

The Course Syllabus Certificate is only issued in Spanish.

End of Studies Certificate

The End of Studies Certificate allows you to accredit the date on which you completed your studies. You may only request it if you have completed your studies.

Credits Enrolled Certificate

The Credits Enrolled Certificate allows you to accredit the number of credits in which you are enrolled for the current academic year or the last academic year you were enrolled.

Enrollment Period Certificate

The Enrollment Period Certificate allows non-professional Master's Degree students to prove the start and end dates of the version of the Master’s degree they studied and Bachelor's Degree and Professional Master's Degree students to prove the academic years in which they officially enrolled.

It is issued in digital format within 1 day of submitting the request and it costs €40.

Level of English Proficiency Certificate

The Level of English Proficiency Certificate accredits the level of English proficiency that is recorded with the University.

The Level of English Proficiency Certificate only certifies the level of English proficiency that is recorded as having been completed. For example, if at the time of the request you are enrolled in level B1, on your certificate the level recorded as being completed will be the previous level passed, A2.

It is issued in digital format within 1 day of submitting the request and it costs €40.

Official University Accreditation Certificate

The Official University Accreditation Certificate proves that Universidad Europea de Madrid is officially recognized by Law 24/1995, of July 17, which recognizes Universidad Europea de Madrid as a private university (Official State Gazette no. 170 of July 18) and that it is registered in the Ministry of Education’s University Register.

It is issued in digital format within 1 day of submitting the request and it costs €40.

Substitute Document

The Degree Substitute Document substitutes the Accredited Degree for one year until the Accredited Degree is issued. Only one document can be issued. The Substitute Document issued may be renewed for six additional months, if necessary. To do this, go to the Student Services Department with your original Substitute Document before its validity period expires and we will add an Extension of Validity to the document.

The Degree Substitute Document is issued on paper within 5 business days of submitting the request and it costs € 60.

The Degree Substitute Document is only issued in Spanish.

In general, the certificates are issued in electronic format within 1 day of submitting the request. As such, before submitting payment, ensure that you have requested the certificate you need, since once submitted, your payment will not be refunded. This does not include the Course Syllabus Certificates, Specific Certificates, and Substitute Documents, which have longer delivery times. Check the delivery times for these documents in the More Information section

Other important things to keep in mind:

  • Universidad Europea issues its certificates in digital format, with the exception of the Qualification Substitution Document.
  • The academic certificates you request will be sent in digital format to the email address that is registered in our database. Check to make sure your information and email address are correct here
  • Once the digital certificate is issued, you may download it as many times as you wish from your personal UEM site, to use them wherever and whenever you need them.
  • If, in addition to the certificate in digital format, you also need a paper copy of the certificate, you can request it by checking the appropriate box when filling out the request form and by paying the applicable fee.
  • If you are going to certify your documents for use abroad, you should ask the entity that will be providing the legalization if you should request a paper copy of your certificates, since there are some entities that will not legalize certificates in digital format.
  • The delivery time for paper certificates is 5 business days from the time the request and online payment are made. This excludes Specific Certificates and Course Syllabus Certifications, which will be issued within 15 business days of when the request and online payment are made. The delivery time for certificates may be affected by vacation periods, Christmas, Holy Week, and exceptional circumstances.
  • To be able to request any certificate, you must be current on your payments. Otherwise, you will not be able to make the request.
  •  If you ask us to send your paper certificate via certified mail, the university cannot be held responsible for the misplacement or loss of the documents sent.

Degree Requests

Once you have completed your studies, you may request your degree online. Submit your request here

Important. Before requesting your degree you should make sure:

That the status of your transcript is "Studies Completed
That the information on your current ID card or Passport is the same that the University has on record before requesting the Degree. If not up to date, update your personal information here

Warning: In the event that the personal information listed on your ID card/Passport does not match what is listed on your Accredited Degree, you will not be able to receive it, until the discrepancy is corrected.

Time frames

Your Accredited Degree will be available within approximately one year from the time you submit the request. In the event you have studied a Non-accredited Degree or a Certificate Course, your degree or diploma will be available within approximately two months from the time you submit the request.

In both cases we will notify you by email when your degree is ready to be picked up.

As proof of having obtained and completed your accredited studies, as well as having requested your Accredited Degree, until you receive your degree, you will have access to:

  • Proof of payment of the degree fees: you will receive it electronically and automatically by email, within 1 day of submitting the degree request.
  • Substitute Document for the Accredited Degree: you will need this document to prove that you have requested your Accredited Degree for certain official organizations outside of Spain and professional associations within Spain, for whom the proof of payment of the degree fees is not sufficient. You may request it here

Warning: The Substitute Document for the Accredited Degree may be requested once you have paid the fees for your Accredited Degree and have received the proof of payment via email.

Picking up or sending degrees

Once you have received the notification by email that your Degree is available, you may pick it up in person in the Student Services Department by presenting your original ID Card or PASSPORT. If you have dual nationality, you must bring the identity document you used to register at the University.

If you have completed accredited studies, in order for someone else to pick up your degree, they must have written permission signed by a notary that expressly authorizes them to pick it up, along with their ID document and a copy of your ID document.

If you have studied a Non-accredited Degree or Certificate Course, the person who comes to pick up your degree or diploma only has to present a written authorization that you have signed, granting them express permission to pick up the degree, along with their ID document and a copy of your ID document.

Alternatively, you may request for your Accredited Degree to be sent to a Government Delegation or Sub-delegation in an Autonomous Community of Spain or to a Spanish embassy or consulate abroad. For this service, you must pay a fee of € 25 to mail within Spain or € 100 to mail abroad and list the organization that we should send it to in the comments section. You may request your document be mailed and pay the corresponding fees here.

The time frame for mailing the Degrees is approximately two months from submitting the request or from the time the Degree arrives at the University if you requested the document be mailed at the same time you requested the Degree itself. The delivery time may be affected by vacation periods, Christmas, Holy Week, and exceptional circumstances.

eDegree

If you have studied a Non-accredited Degree or Certificate Course the University offers you the option to request your eDegree.

What is the eDegree?

The eDegree is an official digital copy, in PDF, of your degree or diploma that is signed electronically. The eDegree has a BIDI code that verifies the University’s information and a Secure Verification Code (SVC).

What are its advantages?

  2. It is easy for businesses to verify.
  3. You can send it to businesses and organizations with just one click.
  4. Fast, practical, affordable, and environmentally-friendly.

When your eDegree is available you will receive a notification by email. Check to make sure your email address is correct here

Applicable fees

For 3-Year Bachelor's Degrees, Bachelor’s Degrees, Architecture, Engineering, and Graduate degrees, the cost is € 180.

Master's Degrees cost € 210

Non-accredited Master's Degrees cost € 120

eDegrees cost € 90

Doctorate Degrees cost € 240

In the event you have lost or damaged your Accredited Degree or have changed your personal information and you want to request a copy of your Degree, you must pay a fee for Issuance of a Copy of Accredited Degrees and Publication in the Spanish Official State Gazette which costs € 360.

Transcript Transfers

If you wish to transfer your transcript to another university, you should begin the process by requesting an acceptance letter from the university where you wish to transfer.

Once you have received the acceptance letter from the university where you wish to transfer, you must pay a €40 fee for the transfer of the transcript and attach a copy of the acceptance letter online here

Once the transfer request has been made, you will receive a digitally-signed receipt for payment of the transfer fee that you should send to your new university.

Universidad Europea will transfer your transcript directly to the university that is listed on your acceptance letter by sending them your Official Academic Certificate.

Certificates and Degrees FAQs

How do I request a grade record?

All the information from your transcript will appear on your Personal Academic Certificate exactly as it appears on the transcript at the time you are requesting it. Please check to make sure the information is correct before submitting the request here.

How can I obtain my GPA?

Your GPA appears on the Personal Academic Certificate.

If I am an ACTE student, can I request a personal academic certificate?

No. If you studied an Advanced Career or Technical Education program you must request a Certificate of Studies Completed by filling out form 030 from the Autonomous Community of Madrid and paying the fee, or request a Certificate of Incomplete Studies by submitting a general request online here.

Why don’t I see all my recognized courses/transfer credits on my transcript?

Recognized courses/transfer credits are added to the transcript as you enroll in courses that correspond to the same academic year.

What should I do if my Erasmus study abroad grades do not show up?

You should contact your International Academic Coordinator so they can request your grades from the university abroad or, if you prefer, you can send us a general request online here and we will process it for you.

What documents do I need to present to pick up my accredited degree?

The only document that is absolutely necessary for picking up your Accredited Degree is your current, valid ID card or passport. If you have dual nationality, you must bring the identity document you used to register at the University.

In the event that the personal information listed on your ID card/Passport does not match what is listed on your Accredited Degree, you will not be able to receive it, until the discrepancy is corrected.

Can the Accredited Degree be picked up by someone other than the student?

Yes, but they must have a document signed by a notary that gives them express authorization to pick up the degree, along with their ID document and a copy of the student's ID document. (Order dated July 8, 1988, Official State Gazette No. 167 of July 13, 1988)

My personal information has changed, or if I have lost or damaged my Accredited Degree. What can I do?

In the event it has been lost, damaged or your personal information has changed (nationality, last name, etc.) you may request a copy of your Accredited Degree. The cost of this copy is € 360 and it includes, when applicable, the fees associated with publishing the loss of the degree in the Official State Gazette. Once we receive payment, we will notify you when you can come pick it up.

In this case, the time frame for picking it up is approximately 6 months.
