The admissions process for programs in the Postgraduate School at Universidad Europea is open all year round, although registration in any of the programs is dependent on the availability of places.

María Victoria Rivas López
Currently, Director of the Master’s Degree in Business Analytics at Universidad Europea de Madrid. Professor of Statistics and Econometrics at Universidad Europea. Doctor in Actuarial and Financial Sciences, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Master’s Degree in Insurance Management, ICEA (Investigación Cooperativa de Entidades Aseguradoras). At a teaching level, has over 20 years’ teaching experience, both nationally and internationally in Statistics, Econometrics, Data Mining, Finances, Risk Management. Has been a visiting researcher at Harvard University, University of Berkeley and University of Hong Kong. Has also been a visiting assistant professor at the University of Columbia, where she was integrated into the Statistics Department. Her professional activity has always been linked to risk models, statistical and econometric analysis in companies such as Mutua Madrileña, SAS, Pacífico Peruano Suiza, Caser and Riskia. Her research centers around copula theory, spatial econometrics and geolocation.  


Carmen López
Currently, Director of Customer Intelligence, Market Intelligence and Pricing at Makro. Graduate in Mathematics, Specializing in Statistics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Executive MBA, Instituto de Empresa. Has developed her professional career within the world of analytics and client intelligence at SAS, E&Y and IBM among other companies. Has a wide range of business experience in very diverse sectors including banking, insurance and retail.

José Miguel Rodríguez-Pardo
Former General Manager, BBVA Seguros (2000-2010). Over 30 years in the financial and insurance sector, working in high level positions where his teams have developed solutions to optimize decision-making through models and data management. President, Escuela de Práctica Financiera y Actuarial del Instituto de Actuarios Españoles. Actuary and Graduate in Economic and Business Sciences, UCM. Postgraduate in business manegement, IESE and EOI. Doctor in Economics, Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Doctor in Biomedicine, Universidad Europea de Madrid.

Javier Cortés
Expert in the application of technology to business processes and ample knowledge on how to implement technological solutions to Big Data, Data Analytics, cyber security and design solutions to businesses in Blockchain, increasing the speed and efficiency of procedures. Adviser to Boards of tech companies in the Big Data and Business Analytics sector. Graduate in Management and Compliance, University of Manchester and MBA, Harvard University. Additionally, expert in Behavioral Economics and decision-making analysis at the same university, and certified in Cybersecurity, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Currently researching Blockchain technology.

Luis Núñez Maestre
Head of Digital and Mobile, Apache Media. Digital Executive with over 9 years’ experience participating in digital innovation projects and consulting in Spain, England and Ireland. During his experience at Google, contributed to the launch of several companies in diverse sectors such as large purchasing, travel, media and entertainment and eCommerce. Expert in optimization of investments in mobile first companies, contributing to their global expansion as well as coordinating and advising clients at Owned Media.

Miguel de la Llave
Responsible for modeling and pricing in the Actuarial Department of Life, Health and Accidents at AXA Seguros. Graduate in Economics Sciences and Actuarial and Financial Sciences, Universidad Complutense (UCM). Master’s Degree in Quantitative Techniques for the Insurance Sector, Universidad Carlos III (UC3M). Has developed his career as an investment analyst at Square Capital, modeler of credit risks at Barclays Bank. Expert in geolocation and spatial regression models.  

Hugo Tamashiro
Head of Marketing Analytics, Mutua Madrileña. Specialist in information analysis and commercial processes, the career of professor Hugo Tamashiro has developed in the area of Marketing and Sales in B2C environments with special attention to clients. With 19 years’ experience in different positions in consulting and at Mutua Madrileña. Currently works as Head of Marketing Intelligence at Mutua Madrileña in order to improve the commercial results using data.

Pablo Fernández
Doctor in Physics, specialized in the use of artificial intelligence techniques to optimize processes. Has directed two doctoral theses regarding the optimization of technical market value parameters using evolving algorithms. Has worked in companies in different sectors: Energy, Finance and TIC. Has directed research projects and developed and published numerous studies in journals and international conferences. Has been a university profesor for the past 20 years.  

Juan Vidal Gil
Graduate in Physics. Expert in Business Intelligence and Big Data with 20 years’ experience in TI projects. Expert in programming, SAS. Has completed BI and Big Data projects in banking, telecommunications and public administration, working in technical and management positions. Since 2014 combines training projects (in person and online) in the university sector, in-company training and specialized Master’s degrees.  

Francisco Gallego Sanchez-Bermejo
IT Engineer, Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, MBA, and various certifications in management such as ITIL EXPERT or SCRUM Master. Has over 10 years of experience in IT consulting, in the main companies and with leading clients in the sector, specializing in the world of data, working in all roles from programmer to Project Director and Product Manager in Big Data. Has also worked as a teacher and Master’s Director of BI and Big Data at Escuela de Formación en Nuevas Tecnologías CICE, where he has received recognition from colleagues and students.

Gabriel Valverde
Data Scientist, Bankinter, where he works on several cases of usage in the finance sector, in combination with his research as a Doctoral student in Mathematical Engineering, Statistics and Operations Research, Universidad Complutense de Madrid. His Project centers on expert systems using functional programming and Big Data. As a member of the group G-TeC, has participated in Big Data and Data Analysis projects. Throughout his professional career, has worked in product development at Wyred, a start-up focusing on personalized marketing, where he has developed different predictive models based on Machine Learning. His teaching experience has focused on encouraging the use of possible business applications for Deep Learning models, as well as learning and Big Data in Data Science framework applications. His areas of interest are: Lambda Architecture, Decision Sciences, Decision Support Systems, Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning, Uncertainty, CAD, Category Theory, Bayesian Statistics and Reinforcement Learning.

Laura Pilar Duque Santamaría
Director of Regulatory Compliance and Internal Control, Mutualidad General de la Abogacía. Gradate in Economics and Business (1993-1998) and Actuarial and Financial Sciences (2000-2002), Universidad Complutense de Madrid. National Graduate Prize in both degrees. State Insurance Inspector (2000). Initiated her professional career in the Dirección General de Seguros y Fondos de Pensiones where she rose to the position of Deputy General Manager in Insurance Market Planning. Was also director at Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros. Head of Regulatory & Compliance specializing in the insurance sector, Deloitte Legal (2013 – 2017).

1. Documentation

To begin your admission process, the first thing to do is book your appointment online or by calling 91 740 72 72.

2.  What does the admissions test consist of?

When will you know you’ve been accepted?

3. Reserve your place

Along with the admissions letter, you will receive an envelope with information about official registration. It is recommended that in order to reserve your place, you should respond within 7 days of receiving the letter.

4. Registration

All students joining the Universidad Europea for the first time, wanting to study a degree, must open a file with the university, prior to registration. The Department of Admission for New Students will provide the candidate with all the documentation and forms to complete their registration.

Convalidations and transfers

You don’t have to carry on doing something you don’t want to. For this reason, we have designed specific convalidation and university transfer plan. If you want to know your personalized plan, as quickly and easily as possible, send us an email to along with the following documentation:

  • Personal academic certificate of the original degree.
  • Study plan sealed by the Secretariat of the center of origin.
  • The academic program of the subjects studied and/or enrolled in the original degree.
  • Officially translated degree certificate (only in the case of foreign graduates)

In case of requesting recognition for professional experience, you will be required to provide;

  • Work life certificate

  • Company certificate, only in those cases where it is necessary to prove the functions performed in the company, or in cases of students with international professional experience who cannot provide a work-life certificate.

Professional practices

Internships in companies are a key element in your education. Acquiring experience and putting into practice what you have learned on your degree is the best way to enter the labor market. There are two types of internship, curricular (which are included as part of your program) and extracurricular (which you can do on a voluntary basis).

In order to carry out an internship in a company, you’ll need to have passed 50% of your credits and register before you start the internship. Both the company and a professor on your course will monitor your progress on the internship as well as providing an evaluation at the half way mark and upon completion. 

If you want to gain extra work experience before finalizing your university studies, you are welcome to carry out extracurricular internships. You can carry them out in whichever year of your studies you choose but we remind you that internships are formative and should complement your studies. The more theoretical knowledge you have acquired throughout your degree, the more you will benefit from the internships.
