II International Congress in Challenge Based Learning

Universidad Europea’s Challenge Based School organizes its II International Congress in Challenge Based Learning (CBL): “An Academic Model that merges the professional world with higher education”. Confirmed keynote speakers are María Acaso, expert in educational revolution and art thinking, founding member of the Invisible Pedagogies collective and Head of Education at the Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain); Miguel Justribó, Chief Purpose Officer Telepizza Group and Amy Zeng, Dean of Barney Business School,  University of Hartford (CT, USA). There will be an awards ceremony for best practices in CBL.

Participation Guidelines  

  • Any university professor may present a proposal.
  • There is a limit of two proposals per author.
  • Proposals may be in English or Spanish.
  • Practices must be from the last two academic years (18-19, 19-20).
  • In order to present a paper, you must be registered in the congress.

Paper proposals

Paper proposals shall be sent via email to the following address CBLcongress@universidadeuropea.es and shall include:

  • Title of Proposal
  • An abstract of no more than 300 words in the template here provided.
  • Name of each of the authors, university / institution to which they belong and email.
  • Keywords (maximum 5).
  • A pdf document filled out in the template here provided.
  • Deadline for submission: July 31, 2020.

The Organizing Committee will communicate the acceptance of papers on September 18, 2020. They will communicate which papers will participate in the Congress as well as those chosen to be published as a chapter of a book in Good Practices in CBL.

The papers to be published in the book must be submitted by November 30, 2020. Further instructions will be provided upon acceptance.

Evaluation of Proposal

The proposal will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • The practice provides a benefit to society or the community.
  • The activities carried out and resources provided for the challenge are adequate and sufficient.
  • The key competencies proposed promote cross-disciplinary collaboration.
  • The solution proposed is feasible and applicable.
  • The channels of dissemination of the challenge are of significant impact.

Prizes

There will be a total of 6 prizes awarded, 4 academic awards for good practices and 2 awards for collaborating organizations from the professional world:

  • Award for Best Practices in International institutions.
  • Award for Best Practices in National institutions.
  • Award for Best Practices on the part of Professors and Students of the School of Social Sciences and Communication, Universidad Europea.
  • Award for the Best Communication, and
  • Award for CBL collaborating organizations. These will be voted on by the School Board based on their commitment to the academic world through the provision of real world challenges.

  • 11hs a 11.45hs. I am an artist and my students too. Arts as a methodological challenge in education post- COVID - María Acaso, expert in educational revolution and art thinking, founding member of the Invisible Pedagogies collective and Head of Education at the Museo Reina Sofía (Madrid, Spain).
  • 11.45 a 12.30hs. Miguel Justribó, Chief Purpose Officer Telepizza Group.
  • 12:30 a 13hs. Coffee break.
  • 13 a 13.30hs. Round table with students from each area of study who participate in CBL through our labs and clinics:

  • 13.30 a 14hs. Experiential Learning: a Fruitful Journey to Make Students Career Ready - Amy Zeng, Dean of Barney Business School- University of Hartford.
