We provide you with a list of scholarships for you to select the one that best adapts to your circumstances. We also inform you that the Scholarships awarded by the University are subject to current tax legislation.

Universidad Europea de Madrid Scholarship

New students with good transcripts (with an above average or outstanding average mark) and a low income level can apply for a scholarship in our university, in accordance with the applicable Regulations on Applying for and Granting Scholarships in force during each academic year.

Application Term:

30 May to 30 September.

  • A certified photocopy of your transcript.
  • A certified photocopy of the student's last individual or joint Income Tax Return and a certified photocopy of the last financial statement of the student's parents or the persons the student is economically dependent on. Documents may be certified in any public office or at the University.

Any application for scholarship that is missing any of the required documents will not be processed. In order to obtain the scholarship you must successfully pass the University's admissions process.

Once the scholarship has been granted, you will have a term of 5 business days from receiving the communication to pay the University place reservation fee and hand in the enrollment envelope with the duly-completed form containing the economic and family particulars. After that term has passed you will automatically lose your right to the scholarship.

For students enrolling in UEM in year 12/13 the term is from 15 June to 14 July 2013.

For HCAP students the term is until 30 September.

Universidad Europea de Madrid Career College Scholarship

For students who will be studying Advanced Career and Technical Education at Universidad Europea de Madrid during year 2013 / 2014.

Application Term:

from 1 June to 30 September 2013 for new Advanced Technical Career students.

Official Scholarship of the Ministry of Education

The Scholarships system offered by the Ministry of Education includes the following among others:

  • Fixed sums for all applicants meeting the requirements:
    • Tuition scholarship: This includes the amount of the credits for which the student is enrolled for the first time. The amount will be the official public price set during the year 2013-2014 for the academic services. Credits exceeding the minimum amount necessary to obtain the degree in question will not be included in the tuition scholarship.
    • A fixed sum for the student's accommodation expenses during the year of study: €1.500
    • A fixed sum associated with the student's income: €1.500
  • A variable and differing sum for the different applicants meeting the requirements. These amounts will be the result of the weighting of the average mark in the student's transcript and the student's family income and will be determined by applying an allocation formula (see article 9 of the call for applications).

Scholarships from the Autonomous Community of Madrid

For students with excellent academic grades

The applications will be presented to the National Department of Postsecondary Education and Research, preferably to the Education Department's Registry.

Basque Government Scholarships

These scholarships are intended for all students included in the official census of the Basque Country studying in university or higher education courses (excluding graduate studies, private university degrees and specialized studies) at centers located in this autonomous community or in any other location in Spain.

Agreement-based Scholarships

Scholarships granted through University agreements will not include Medicine and Pilot Degrees, and those which may be expressly declared as excluded every year.

Juan Abelló Entrepreneurial Scholarship

Universidad Europea de Madrid is pleased to issue a call for applications to the first Juan Abelló Entrepreneurial Scholarship , which recognizes entrepreneurial effort and value contributed by Juan Abelló in developing the Spanish economy , and his ongoing interest in culture, sport and education. The scholarships are intended for University graduates studying any graduate business degree program included in the offering of Universidad Europea de Madrid and its Graduate Schools.

  1. INTRODUCTION

    Universidad Europea de Madrid is pleased to announce the first call for applications for the Vargas Llosa Chair Literary Creation Scholarships, which pay tribute to the relevance in literature of the Hispanic-Peruvian writer, who won the Nobel literature prize in 2010. These grants are intended for all university graduates interested in studying the Master in Literary Creation offered by Universidad Europea de Madrid.

  2. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS
    1. A literary creation scholarship is announced for 2013/14.
    2. The literary creation scholarships cover 100% of the costs* exclusively for teaching the Master in Literary Creation, a private graduate degree of Universidad Europea de Madrid.
  3. APPLICATION PREREQUISITES

    *The amounts of the grants are subject to current tax legislation and the University will apply the respective withholding.

    1. The scholarships are intended for all university graduates interested in studying a Master's degree in Literary Creation, a private graduate degree whose second edition will be imparted during academic year 2013/14.

      • 1 original short story written by the candidate taking up no more than one side of 1 sheet (DIN A4), with single line spacing in Times New Roman lettering with font size 10

  4. DATE FOR PRESENTING THE DOCUMENTS

    The application and required documents will be presented to the Student Affairs department, c/ Tajo, s/n, 28670 Villaviciosa de Odón or sent to the email address becas@universidadeuropea.es, specifying in the reference “Vargas Llosa Chair Scholarships”.

    Term: September 30 2013.

  5. EVALUATION OF APPLICATIONS

    The committee entrusted with the task of evaluating the applications will be formed by:

    • the dean of the School of Arts and Communication
    • The director of the Journalism and Languages academic area
    • The director of the Journalism and Intercultural Communication department
    • The external director of the Master in Literary Creation
    • The internal director of the Master in Literary Creation

    The committee will evaluate candidates' résumés and their motivations and skills with respect to literary creation. The chosen candidates will hold a personal interview with the directors of the graduate degree.

  6. DECISION

    The decision term will be 30 days from the end of the term for presenting the applications. The decision will clearly indicate the name of the beneficiary and the applications included in the reserve list in order of preference.

    The Universidad Europea de Madrid Scholarships Committee will be in charge of approving proposals.

    The person selected must explicitly accept the conditions and terms of the proposal for awarding the grant (by means of a letter of undertaking).

  7. WAIVERS

    Grant waivers will be notified as soon as possible within a maximum term of 7 days. That waiver implies substitution by one of the candidates included in the reserve list. In the event that the grant cannot be covered by the person awarded the scholarship or by the candidates on the reserve list, Universidad Europea de Madrid reserves the right to declare the scholarship not awarded.

Grants for Excellence in Medicine sponsored by Dr. Pedro Alonso

* All scholarships are taxed as ordinary income. Withholding of between 2% and 24.75% is applied to the scholarships, depending on the amount of the grant and the beneficiary's tax residence. The withholding leads to a reduction in the net amount received.
