Universidad Europea’s International Conference on Innovation in Higher Education has become a leading forum for the exchange of ideas and experiences in the field of educational innovation. On July 11 and 12, 2013 this event took place for the tenth time and, under the motto of Education towards Transformation, dealt with core topics such as the holistic education of the student, technology and innovation in teaching, and participative learning methodologies. In addition to poster sessions and oral presentations, each edition features various workshops on topics of special interest. The range of workshops on offer last year included: Coaching for Advising and Counseling, Personal Learning Environments, Jointly Designing Sustainability in the Classroom, Managing Emotions and Bodily States in the Classroom, Improving Teaching Practices through Research, and Learning to Create a MOOC Platform for Your Own Courses.
The end of each conference is preceded by the Universidad Europea Teaching Innovation Awards ceremony. These awards seek to encourage innovation in the classroom and recognize the work of educators who are fully committed to adapting the way they teach to the requirements of the European Higher Education Area.
