Universidad Europea’s academic model will provide you with a learning experience based on the acquisition of knowledge, competencies and values, which in turn will give you the most employable profile in the global professional market.
This model is geared towards producing the best graduates by focusing on the development of our students, which demands from them their active participation, commitment, and constant dedication. The teaching methodologies and support provided by faculty, together with the use of technology, periods of study abroad, internships, and extracurricular activities, enable each student to become the ‘best version of themselves’ and boost their employability in a global world.
Our academic model is a key differentiating element that sets us apart, but more importantly, its quality is reflected in our excellent employability results: 90% of our graduates find employment within a year, a statistic that everyone who forms parts of Universidad Europea can be proud of.
To develop their competencies, students need to learn by doing, which requires us to use teaching methods that encourage their participation. At Universidad Europea we have a long tradition of employing proven effective methods such as Cooperative Learning, the Case Study Method, Project and/or Problem Based Learning, without excluding other activities such as classroom debates, practical tasks, seminars, etc.
It is important for students who are following a campus-based program to attend classes on a constant basis, so that they can be given as much support and advice as they may need to help them learn. Regular attendance also makes it possible for us to carry out proper continual assessment of each student.
Academic monitoring of students takes the form of academic advising, which is a key feature of our academic model. The accessibility and approachability of the Universidad Europea professor has always been one of the mainstays of the education we provide, and is one of the aspects most highly rated by our students. Individual and group advising sessions provide students with valuable guidance, the basis of effective learning.
Beyond academic advising, Universidad Europea also runs a Mentor Program, through which all our students are assigned a mentor-professor whose mission is to help them adapt to the university environment. The mentor should assist and guide the student throughout their learning process, in their transition to the world of work, and in their professional development, accompanying them through the gradual development of their emotional intelligence and certain cross-disciplinary competencies.
We also place a lot of emphasis on the importance of learning English. Some of the programs we offer at our University are taught entirely in English, and all our Bachelor’s Degrees include courses designed to improve the student’s knowledge and command of this language. In addition to this, every year we welcome numerous visiting professors from abroad and over a thousand international students. Moreover, the practical cases, exercises and problems tackled in the classroom require our students to consult resources and bibliographical references in English to obtain a global view of their future profession. Universidad Europea professors and students should be able to use this language with confidence and ease, both as a work tool and a means of communication.
Universidad Europea boasts a technologically advanced campus with all the infrastructures and facilities necessary for an optimal learning experience, offering students the best educational resources and greater interactivity in the classroom. The University also has a Technological Innovation Plan whose aim is to equip each school with the technological tools that will enable students to:
Examples of this include: projects under way to promote the use tablets and e-portfolios in the classroom; the creation of global classrooms through telepresence and videoconferencing to bring students and professors from other places together in real time; the use of simulators and augmented reality, shared devices, audio systems, 3D, specific classrooms for working on projects, etc.
Each course also addresses the need to develop in our students the educational values of Universidad Europea: creative and entrepreneurial spirit, critical thinking, integrity, passion for excellence, global vision, and social responsibility.
As we are convinced that our students should receive not only excellent academic instruction but also an education in values, we have made curricular sustainability an integral and cross-disciplinary part of the curriculum in all our Bachelor’s Degree programs. As a result, sociocultural, environmental and economic sustainability becomes an ever-present element in every facet of our students’ education.
Outside the classroom we also run projects to foster the social action of our university community, such as: the Mandela Campus Social Group, which encourages volunteering by devising and publicizing initiatives, the University Project for Development, which allows our students and professors to gain experience in the field of international cooperation, or the Young Social Entrepreneurs Awards, which annually recognize 10 projects that are having a positive impact on society.
At Universidad Europea it is essential to involve our students in the international learning opportunities we offer. Therefore, the University’s various Schools offer their students a wide range of options for international development. Furthermore, the mentor-professor plays a fundamental role in encouraging our students to arrange periods of study abroad, and in helping us to take full advantage of the contributions of those who come from foreign universities.
Throughout your stay at the University you’ll be able to take part in all kinds of leisure, cultural, social responsibility and student representation activities, which will undoubtedly contribute to a genuinely holistic learning experience during your university life.
The University’s Schools offer University Activities, scheduled for each academic year both in campus-based and online format programs. Throughout your university life you’ll be able to participate in numerous activities and gradually accumulate ECTS credits up to a maximum of 6.
You can also apply for your Cultural Passport, which, thanks to our collaboration agreements with cultural entities, will allow you to take advantage of discounts and obtain academic recognition. What’s more, you can also join clubs and student associations set up and run by our students themselves.
An innovative education in tune with the real world of work, featuring comprehensive facilities capable of reproducing the work environments the students will soon enter, as well as an extensive faculty of professionals whose teaching is directly related to their work experience, guarantees a connection with the real world from the first year on.
And as we also have more than 3,000 agreements with companies, we can offer a wide range of grants and internships to all students, enabling them to continue with their practical training and secure a real job.
